Slash has taken to the studio to resurrect the old Triple M theme.
The original track used for the theme retitled ‘Dr Dan’ was written by Mike Batt who these days manages Katie Melua. Batt also wrote the Art Garfunkel classic ‘Bright Eyes’.Original Triple M owner Rod Muir used his track ‘The Journey of The Fool’ from his 1980 album Tarot Suite and renamed it ‘Dr Dan’ after his yacht for the opening of the original Triple M radio station in Sydney.
The current Triple M, now owned by Austereo, is taking a step back to the original Muir origins of the station by not only bringing back the theme but also the original logo used by Muir in Sydney in the 80s.
Slash recorded the new version of the theme when he was in Australia last month for the launch of MTV Classic.
