Devo conducted a survey amongst their fans to determine the 12 songs that will be included on their first album in 20 years.
16 tracks were placed on the band’s website and Devo invited fans to take part in picking 12.Devo then held a press conference to announce the results of the Song Study.
"We decided to actively seek comment and criticism from outside people and use that as a tool, rather than shunning or ignoring it," says Gerald Casale. "Our experiences participating in secondary creativity ? things like corporate consensus building, focus groups ? make you appreciate the connection that an artist has to society."
The band has also announced Greg Scholl will serve as COO for Devo Inc.
The 12 songs selected for the album ‘Something for Everybody’ were "Watch Us Work It," "Fresh," "Sumthin'," "Don't Shoot, (I'm A Man)," "Step Up," "Signal Ready," "What We Do," "Please Baby Please," "Let's Get To It," "Mind Games," "Later is Now," and "Human Rocket."
The album will be released in June.
