TOP 30 CONTENDERS FOR APRA SONG OF THE YEAR 2012

Amongst other awards such as Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year, Most Played Australian Work, Most Played Australian Work Overseas, International Work of the Year, Country Work of the Year, Blues & Roots Work of the Year, Urban Work of the Year, Dance Work of the Year and Rock Work of the Year... The most coveted prize is the Apra Song of The Year. 30 artists are in contention to win the peer voted prize and are diverse group including Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson, Hilltop Hoods, Eskimo Joe, Don Walker and The Living End alongside relative newcomers such as Lanie Lane, Kimbra, Emma Louise, San Cisco and Last Dinosaurs. The list also features double entries by songwriter Wally de Backer (aka Gotye) and an entry from Christian organisation Hillsong....

The Top 30 sets up a fascinating contest for the five finalists (to be announced in early May) and the overall winner, which will be announced on Monday May 28th at the 2012 APRA Music Awards.
