Jay-Z says he psyched Bono out while on tour with U2 in Australia, delaying their forthcoming album.
He told The Sun that while he was touring with U2 through Australia and New Zealand, he’d been asked a question about the band’s most recent album No Line Of The Horizon.
Jay-Z recalled that he said “something about the pressure a group like that must be under just to meet their own standards.”
Later, U2 got to work on their next album Songs Of Ascent.
When Jay-Z ran into Bono later, the shaded one "said the quote had really gotten to him and he decided to go back to the studio, even though the album was already done, and keep reworking it 'til he thought it was as good as it could possibly be".
"I was surprised that at that point in his career he still got anxious about his work."
That said, Songs Of Ascent is certainly on the way and has a release date: May 27.
