Rihanna has agreed to cover up for her New Year`s Eve show in Abu Dhabi.
The ‘Umbrella’ star will perform at the Emirates Palace on Thursday night and for $500,000 she will dress any way they want ... and that way is without showing any flesh.Dubai is considered liberal compared to other Middle Eastern places but revealing dress is still frowned upon.
In Abu Dhabi, although not enforced, etiquette is required, especially for a performance at the Palace. Long trousers and long skirts or shirts or T-shirts with sleeves that cover the upper arm is considered acceptable dress for women in Abu Dhabi.
That pretty much throws Rihanna’s normal stage gear right out of line. The singer is expected to dress accordingly and not appear as she has in Western countries over the years.
A spokesperson for Rihanna said she will “compromise her style to fit with local traditions”.
