Actress Brittany Murphy has died from a heart attack at the age of 32.
The star of ‘8 Mile’, ‘Clueless’ and ‘Don’t Say A Word’ is reported to have gone into cardiac arrest at around 8am Sunday morning, Los Angeles time.Husband Simon Monjack called Emergency and Brittany was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center but was dead on arrival.
Murphy married screenwriter Simon Monjack in 2007.
The Atlanta born actress landed her first job in Hollywood at the age of 14 when she started as Brenda Drexell in the series Drexell’s Class. She also had small parts in Blossom, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose and Frasier. She was also the voice of Luanna Platter and the younger Joseph Gribble in the animated series King of the Hill.
Her big movies were Clueless (1995), Girl Interrupted (1999), Don’t Say A Word (2001), 8 Mile (2002), ‘Uptown Girls (2003) and Sin City (2005). She was also the voice of Gloria in Happy Feet (2006).
Her last role cast as the main character of Cilla in the TV movie Tribute.
Musically, she released the single ‘Faster Kill Pussycat’ with Paul Oakenfold in 2006. On the Happy Feet soundtrack, she also sang Queen’s Somebody To Love’ and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland”.
