Green Day will be the next band heading towards the Rock Band computer game.
The game, featuring the likenesses of Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool and the music of Green Day will be the first major Rock Band release of 2010."We've worked with the 'Rock Band' team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we're excited to now be working on a game spanning our entire career," said Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong in a statement announcing the deal. "We want people to fire this up, choose their favorite Green Day tracks and play along with us as 'Rock Band' avatars so they can feel what it's like to perform on stage as Green Day."
Green Day will also release three tracks from the ‘21st Century Breakdown’ album this week for Rock Band as downloadable content.
The last major artist to feature as a Rock Band game was The Beatles.
