David Bowie will not be playing at Glastonbury 2010.
A statement at the rock legend’s website has put an end to the story saying, “The Mail Online has posted a piece suggesting that David Bowie is "considering an offer" to appear at next year's 40th anniversary Glastonbury Festival.Sadly, there is absolutely no substance to this story”.
Bowie has had a low profile since suffering a minor heart attack while on his A Reality tour on 2004.
His limited public appearances include an appearance on stage with Arcade Fire in 2005 (he is a huge fan of the band). He also contributed vocals to the TV On The Radio song ‘Province’, Kashmir on ‘The Cynic’ and a couple of tracks on Scarlett Johnsson’s album of Tom Waits’ covers ‘Anywhere I Lay My Head’.
In 2006 he performed a duet of his song ‘Changes’ with Alicia Keys at a charity function and performed two songs with David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall that same year.
His only public message to fans this year was a brief Twitter post on January 6 when he said, “Cheers from snowy Berlin! Working on some new material!”. It was his one and only Twitter post and the account was never verified.
