Paul McCartney's handwritten working lyrics to 1968's 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer', from the 'Abbey Road' album could reach up to $US300,000 at auction.
Renowned auction house Christie's are conducting a major Rock and Pop Memorabilia Auction in New York on December 4, with other Beatles-related items up for grabs, including the recording of a previously unheard interview with John Lennon. The tape, recorded in 1974 and featuring discussions on the possibility of a Beatles reunion, is expected to fetch upwards of $US25,000.Cashed-up Jimi Hendrix fans can own a customised sunburst coloured Fender Stratocaster owned by the legendary guitarist, which is expected to sell for between $US80,000 and $US120,000. A demo version of Bob Dylan's 1963 album 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan' is expected to sell for between $US8,000 and $US12,000.
Other rare items include a 1930s acoustic guitar with 'Woody Guthrie' engraved on the body ($US50,000 - $US70,000), as well as a notebook belonging to Neville Garrick, former art director with Bob Marley & the Wailers. Featuring lyrics and set-lists written by Marley himself, the notebook is expected to reach $US20,000 - $US30,000.
