Legendary Icelandic group The Sugarcubes have reunited for a one-off show in the Icelandic capital Reykjavik.
The alt-rock pioneers, fronted by Bj??rk, played together for the first time in 14 years last Friday, as part of the 20th birthday celebrations for their record label Smekkleysa, which means Bad Taste in English. The label is also the Icelandic home of Sigur R??s.The Sugarcubes opened with 'Traitor' from their 1988 debut 'Life's Too Good'. The band performed their breakthrough hit 'Birthday' in Icelandic, with Bj??rk's voice reportedly soaring.
A statement on Bj??rk's website read, "all profit from the concert goes back into Smekkleysa SM, who continue to work on a non-profit basis for the future betterment of Icelandic music and artists."
