After weeks of speculation as to the future of Rove, Rove McManus has announced he will not return to his show next year.
Addressing the audience during last night’s show, McManus announced that last night’s show was his last show. “It was a difficult call to make but after ten years it felt like time to step away from the show and take a break to properly reflect on what I want to do next as a performer," he said.Rumours spread across the television industry last week after key people were reportedly summonsed and told the news in advance of the statement.
The future of the show became even more uncertain when TEN rolled out its promotion of its 2010 line-up but excluded Rove.
Rove has had a long relationship with the TEN Network but has struggled for ratings for the show.
"I've closed a chapter and after I recover from the wrap party I will work out what's next," he said.
His company Roving Enterprises also produces ‘The 7PM Project’, ‘Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader’ and ‘Before The Game’ for TEN.
