Whocares, a charity supergroup featuring members of Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica and Deep Purple, announce their debut.
The group features Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillian and ex-Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, and Linde Lindstrom from HIM - forgive us if we include Jason Newsted on bass as the (ex-) Metallica inclusion.
Noisecreep.com reports that the band, dubbed Whocares, are set to release their first two songs.
The songs are titled ‘Out Of Mind’ and ‘Holy Water’ and will be available as a digital download, on CD and as a limited edition 7-inch.
Iommi and Gillian have been supporting the rebuilding of a music school in Armenia, and all proceeds will benefit the cause.
The CD version of the tunes will feature a 40-minute documentary following Iommi and Gillian’s two-decade journey helping the school.
The tunes, in all formats, will be available on May 6.
