Vic’s awesome reputation precedes him as the clever and witty co-host of
Sydney’s highly successful Club Veg radio show. Firstly with Triple J, then
2SM, 2MMM, 96FM Perth and another 5 year stint at Sydney’s 2MMM.
Vic’s work earned the program many awards including a number of B&T awards,
Rawards and the prestigious New York Radio Festival Award for Best Comedy
Team.
For just on 20 years his wonderfully skewed musical parodies have been seen
and heard all around the country - at various stages being featured
regularly on ABC’s 7:30 Report, Channel 9’s 1991 Logie Awards, Graham
Kennedy’s Newsnight, A Current Affair and 60 Minutes, as well as Channel 7’s
Clive Robertson’s Newsworld and Today Tonight. The clip of his first single
“The Yuppie Rap” from the 1992 album “Members and Guests & Things” is still
being featured on video shows around the country.
His work with Mike Carlton on the Mike Carlton Breakfast Show on Sydney’s
Mix 106.5 in the mid-90’s garnered him more awards including more
international recognition from the New York Radio Festival: Best Feature
Presentation for his hysterical parody on the life of The Beatles in “The
Lost Beatles Demo Tapes”
He co-hosted Channel 7’s 11AM music segments during 1999 and 2000, and MC’d
numerous live concert events including the popular High School dance
spectaculars, the Rock Eisteddfod series during the 90’s.
The Club Veg Album “We Suck”, as well as raising a truckload of money for
the Royal Randwick Children’s Hospital, was nominated for an ARIA Award in
2001. Over the last 2 years on air his radio program raised over $100,000
for the Children’s Hospital.
Since Club Veg disbanded in late 2002 Vic has devoted the time to a
recording career. The result is his first album of cheeky children's
songs, ‘Sik Vic's Naughty Songs For Naughty Kids’, a collection of cute,
mischievous, sparkling songs aimed at “5 years and up and onwards!”
