Budding unsigned Sydney pop rocker Anthony Snape wins two MusicOz Awards.
The ambitious radio-friendly singer songwriter won the award for pop release for his debut single 'Little Piece Of Love', which has been scoring commercial airplay through Australian major radio networks. His song 'Can't Stop The Rain' picked up the acoustic award.The MusicOz Awards focus on the finest unsigned artists in Australia. On November 14 at Sydney's Enmore Theatre a ceremony handed out awards in categories as diverse as hardcore, classical and electronica and featured appearances by You Am I, Hawksley Workman, The Whitlams and Sarah McLeod.
Other winners included Newcastle's Solver for Best Rock with 'I'll Be The One', laidback lapsteel king Matt Tonks whose 'Monsters Sleep' won Best Alternative, Queensland's The Optimen won the Urban category and Best Video for 'Give It Up', Alice Springs singer songwriter Tashka Urban won the APRA Songwriter's Award for 'Together In This Life', Melbourne metallers Five Star Prison Cell won Best Metal/Hardcore for 'Army Of The Vigilant' and Albury duo Syren won Best Dance/Electronica with 'Calling'.
