OK, so if you are a "truly independent artist", there doesn't seems to be a "true" definition of this anywhere (could mean you record albums by peddling your own power source?) You have the chance to compete in the MusicOz Awards 2012!
Entries for Australia's only "Truly Independent" (there's that phrase again) music awards, Musicoz 2012, are now open. Celebrating the best independent music from across the country, the Musicoz Awards are now in their 11th year with 2012 looking to be the best show yet.
Previous winners include, Art Vs Science, The Jezabels, Cog, Bliss n Eso, Blue King Brown, Radio Ink, Fiona Joy Hawkins and Felicity Urquhart. They have all used the Musicoz Awards as a launch-pad to further their music careers plus benefited from the recognition, exposure opportunities and the largest prize pool for any Australian music awards program.
With judges from across the entire music industry and categories for virtually every genre of music, all independent acts have a chance to be recognised.
