Jimmy Barnes will sing in a traditional Aboriginal language in dirtsong from The Black Arm Band this weekend.
‘dirtsong’ will debut for the 2009 Melbourne International Arts Festival at Melbourne’s Arts Centre State Theatre on Friday October 23rd and Saturday October 24th.The show is a narrative about country and mixes traditional and contemporary songs.
Author Alexis Wright wrote the words. Barnes is one of the guest performers.
Other artists appearing during dirtsong are Lou Bennett, Emma Donovan, Kutcha Edwards, Leah Flanagan, Shane Howard, Ruby Hunter, Bunna Lawrie, Shellie Morris, Archie Roach, Dan Sultan and Bart Willoughby.
