Jimmy Barnes has made a public statement following the death of his fellow bandmate, Cold Chisel member Steve Prestwich.
Via Twitter, Jimmy has posted “Dear Steve, I will miss your friendship. 40 years happy and sad. But nothing as sad as losing you. I am a better person knowing you”.
The music world was shocked to hear the news of the sudden death of the Cold Chisel drummer who passed away on Sunday afternoon at 3:30pm.
Two weeks ago, Prestwich learned that he had a brain tumour. He was admitted to hospital on Friday to have the tumour removed. He never woke up after the operation.
Steve Prestwich wrote both of the last two released new Cold Chisel songs. The band perform his ‘Loveline’ and ‘All I Wanna Do’ on their 2003 Ringside tour. Both songs appear on the ‘Ringside’ live album.
