The family of the late Boyzone member Stephen Gately have rebutted a claim by Georgi Dochev and insist Stephen was found dead by his husband Andy Cowles.
George Dochev had been on the all-night drinking binge with Gately and Cowles and went back to their Majorca house at around 5.30am on Saturday morning.Around 1.30pm, Cowles awoke to find Gately dead on the lounge, a victim of alcohol affixation.
Dochev later gave police a statement saying that he found Gately dead and went woke Cowles.
Reports that police were looking for Dochev were also incorrect. Police say the Bulgarian was at the house when they arrived and had been there since coming home after the drinking binge.
A post mortem result is expected to be announced quickly as officials have ruled out any possibility of violence or drugs.
The remaining members of Boyzone have returned home to Dublin but will head back to Majorca to accompany the body of Stephen Gately home to Ireland.
