Boyzone singer Stephen Gately `choked to death on his own vomit` after a big night out drinking, a UK reports says.
UK tabloid The Mirror claims the singer spent the night drinking champagne and wine at the Black Cat club in Majorca.The Mirror claims Stephen’s family has been told that he had too much to drink, got very drunk, came home, fell asleep and then vomited without waking up.
Witnesses state that Gately and his partner Andy Cowles were still at the club at 5.45am. Gately’s time of death is estimated to be 1.45pm.
A lawyer for Gately has stated “There’s no foul play involved. There is nothing untoward."
"It’s not drugs, it’s not suicide, it’s not murder, it’s not a fight.”
The death of Stephen Gately at the age of 33 is expected to be ruled a tragic accident.
