Bruce Springsteen was a surprise, unannounced guest at the taping of the Elvis Costello TV show `Spectacle` last week.
Costello hosts the music interview program, with funding from Sir Elton John, for the Sundance Channel.Last week, he took up a few days at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York to record a series of shows for the upcoming season.
The show will feature Elvis and Bruce performing together.
Elvis sang lead for the Springsteen songs ‘Point Blank’ and ‘Brilliant Disguise’. Bruce Springsteen also recorded ’41 Shots’, ‘Galveston Bay’, ‘Radio Nowhere’ during the taping as well as Roy Orbison’s ‘Pretty Woman’ and Elvis’ ‘I Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down’.
Elvis interviews Bruce about his life. We’ll learn for the wives, Patti (Bruce) and Diana (Elvis) often call each other to talk about children and other things.
Bruce tells a story about how Elvis once came to visit him and Patti at their farm.
You will also learn that Bruce’s eldest son is not much a Bruce fan. He prefers Rage Against The Machine, Dropkick Murphys and Bad Religion.
With the shows out of the way, Elvis is clear to leave for Australia to begin his tour in Perth on October 8.
