A hypothetical political poll shows New Jersey residents would vote for Bruce Springsteen over current Governor Chris Christie.
The LA Times reports that Public Policy Polling has taken a poll about New Jersey’s current Republican Governor Chris Christie which shows that Bruce Springsteen would be a bigger hit with voters.
Springsteen has been a vocal critic of Republican favourite Christie, slamming his state budget cuts in a letter to this local newspaper, the Asbury Park Press.
He wrote, "The cuts are eating away at the lower edges of the middle class, not just those already classified as in poverty, and are likely to continue to get worse over the next few years."
Now the hypothetical poll shows Springsteen tying with Christie at 42% support, but apparently with room to grow with Democrat voters.
The Boss is no stranger to addressing political concerns in his music, and openly supported the John Kerry and Barack Obama campaigns, while criticizing the use of his all-American anthems by conservative candidates like Ronald Reagan.
