Kylie Minogue has finally returned to the stage, 18 months after beginning her battle with breast cancer. And joining her was a surprise special guest.
On Saturday, the pop star wowed her adoring audience at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, who began proceedings with an extended standing ovation. Trying her best to compose herself, a feather-and-sequin-clad Minogue soaked in the applause before launching into 'Better The Devil You Know'.Minogue remained composed for the entire show, crying only briefly prior to 'Especially For You', which she dedicated to her father Ron. Minogue's parents were said to be overcome with emotion backstage.
"I have thought about this moment for a long time," Kylie told the audience.
"And I tried to practice in my head what I was going to say - [but] I couldn't prepare anything, I really couldn't."
Fans who attended her Sunday show received an extra surprise when Bono joined Kylie for a version of 'Kids'.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the company of greatness tonight," Minogue said. "Let me hear it for Bono!"
The unrehearsed duet was performed without a hitch, with Bono telling Kylie, "You're perfect."
Kylie also premiered a new song, 'White Diamond', co-written with Scissor Sisters.
