The organisers of the Meredith Music Festival have announced a new March Festival dubbed Golden Plains.
Set across the Labour Day weekend of Saturday March 10 to Monday March 12, almost all of the factors that make Meredith so popular - great indie acts, the natural amphitheatre setting, the BYO rules and camping - will be replicated. While the organisers insist that it's not "March Meredith" and want to start a new chapter in festivals, it's already covering all the right bases. The Golden Plains line-up already announced focuses on genius live acts from all around the world. It's a tasty selection of cult indie acts: LA soul rockers The Bellrays, live dub heroes from NZ Fat Freddy's Drop, New Jersey indie gods Yo La Tengo, New York darlings !!!, sly electro side project Gotye, long-worshipped Californian psych rockers Comets On Fire, grrl-punk legends The Slits, dark blues champs The Drones, soul rock upstarts Ground Components, psychedelic duo Mountains In The Sky, and garage rock sensation Eddy Current Suppression Ring.
Head to the Golden Plains dot com to toss your hat in the ring for tickets. It's guaranteed to be a massive indie love-in.
