What happens when a band is out of lyrical ideas, but have a million musical notes floating around their head? Well, brother and sister duo the Fiery Furnaces are going to cover themselves... twice.
Matthew and Elanor Friedberger are going to do their own versions of songs from their recently released album ‘I’m Going Away’.The duo will completely rearrange the songs leaving only the words the same.
On their website they say it will be “complete cover-album versions of the Fiery Furnaces by the Fiery Furnaces. Or The Fiery Furnaces. By the two of them, separately. To be released in two parts, together.
“Six songs by one with six by the other. And then another six by six. The first batch comes out sometime in New York City- meaning September.”
Which I think you can translate to say that the record will come out in two parts, with the first part coming in September.
