Billy Corgan just discovered that his new bassist was one of the little girls pictured on the cover of Siamese Dream.
Siamese Dream was Smashing Pumpkins’ breakthrough album, released in 1993 and featured two little girls hugging on the cover.
The band’s ringleader, Billy Corgan, just discovered that the bassist he enlisted to play in the latest incarnation of his long-term musical project was one of those girls.
Corgan has just tweeted, “Just found out the weirdest news: our bass player Nicole just admitted she is one of the girls on the cover of ‘Siamese Dream’.”
This would be his new bassist Nicole Fiorentino, who was previously in Spinnerette and Veruca Salt.
NME says that Fiorentino told Corgan she didn’t divulge the information until now because she thought that it might jeopardise her chances of joining the Smashing Pumpkins.
Freaky.
