The Big Day Out has announced its second lineup with some rumours coming true, some surprises and some stalwarts.
The Streets make a welcome return to the Big Day Out, two years after their first appearance, The Crystal Method once tore the Boiler Room apart with their love of distortion pedals and analogue synths and Lily Allen rides a big wave of hype to her spot on the bill.Kasabian will hit our shores for the very first time, despite never gaining a huge following in Australia and Lupe Fiasco's mainstream fuelled, Kayne West hyped hip hop.
Other artists added include Trivium, Justice, John Cooper Clarke, Afra & The Incredible Beatbox Band, Diplo, John Butler Trio, Little Birdy, The Presets, Something For Kate, You Am I, Bob Evans, The Drones, Butterfly Effect, [Love] Tattoo and Shapeshifter.
The Big Day Out travels around five Australian cities, and Auckland in New Zealand in January and February. The Gold Coast and Sydney shows are sold out, with a ballot system in place for the remaining tickets. All other shows are on sale now.
