Sydney band My Future Lies has picked up a $40,000 prize package in the Boost Mobile Rock WA competition and will get to go to Western Australia to play for school students.
Rock The Schools is a Boost Mobile initiative to educate students about the business of music. It offers a unique inside view of the music biz.Since 2006, 130,000 students across 170 schools all over Australia have gained knowledge from workshops on the different aspects of the industry.
My Future Lies have built a following through their MySpace site and generated more than a million plays of their songs. The success of MY FUTURE LIES is a testament to how emerging artists across the globe can harness MySpace by viral marketing and getting their music heard by fans and key music industry decision-makers alike,”

They have released two self-funded DVDs, a debut album and a few singles as a truly independent band.
My Future Lies will visit West Australian schools during August.
