Boost Mobiles Rock The Schools program will kick off again on May 4.
The program takes the inner workings of the music industry to school students with a tour of schools.Rock The Schools will visit 24 secondary schools in Victoria starting with Balwyn High School on May 4.
The tour will feature The Take performing for students through to May 29 and then Claire Clark will take up the slot from June 1 at Mansfield Secondary College.
Over 15 weeks, Boost Mobile Rock The Schools will continue into ACT, NSW, Queensland and then finish up in Western Australia on August 14.
Nikki Smith, General Manager - School Tours Australia, organisers of Boost Mobile Rock the Schools said “With over 60 bands applying this year our tour is becoming regarded as a vital launching pad offering young bands an opportunity to build support where it counts most, amongst Australia’s youth. Every year we look forward to working with these emerging acts and showcasing their talents to a whole new fan base. ”à
The acts will perform for the students at lunchtime and give an isight into a the jobs of musicians, sound engineers, roadies, lighting technicians, tour managers and publicists.
For many students, it is their first ever live music experience.
