The funeral of Michael Jackson has been held up after initial plans have been caught up in bureaucracy.
Plans were underway to hold the funeral at Michael’s former home Neverland but regulation forbid a body from being buried on a private property without the property application.Residents of the area did not want their town turned into a tourist attraction stopping plans to bring the body to Neverland.
It was also hoped that the Jackson body would be taken to Neverland via a 30-vechicle convoy tomorrow and that a public viewing of the body would take place on Friday and possibly Saturday. That is now all up in the air.
Reverend Al Sharpton, a family friend of the Jackson’s says that a finite decision is yet to be made. However, it is now believed that the funeral will be private, not public as Michael’s father Joe Jackson first said.
The elder Jackson has been criticised by fans in the last few days for callously plugging his new business during questions about his late son.
Today, it was revealed Joe Jackson will receive nothing from the will nor was he named a guardian of Michael’s children.
Michael’s mother Katherine has been named guardian of the children and in the event of her death while the children are still minors, singer Diana Ross was next in line to care for the kids.
