The title track from The Living End `White Noise` album written by Chris Cheney from The Living End took home Song of the Year at the APRA Awards in Melbourne last night.
‘White Noise’ was up against Kate Miller-Heidke ‘Can’t Shake It, Nick Cave’s ‘Did Lazarus Dig’, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson’s ‘Rattlin’ Bones and ‘Walking on a Dream’ by Empire of the Sun.For Chris Cheney it was the first major award for his songwriting talents. The album won an ARIA last year for ‘Best Rock Album’.
Last year the award went to Daniel Johns and Julian Hamilton for ‘Straight Lines’ by Silverchair.
