We're only just 6 months into 2012, yet MusiCares Person of The Year for 2013 has already been announced.
The recipient is Bruce Springsteen and fans couldn't agree more with Neil Portman's (CEO of The Recording Academy and MusiCare) statement regarding the recipient;
" Bruce Springsteen is a truly gifted and Renaissance artist of our time, a national treasure, and an exemplary humanitarian. Portman adds "His career is a testament to the power of creative excellence, and his contributions as a philanthropist speak to the tenacity of the human spirit. We are privileged and honored to pay tribute to Bruce this year as our MusiCares Person of the Year."
The Boss will receive the award at the annual Los Angeles-based gala dinner two days before the Grammy Awards.
Springsteen joins past MusiCare Person of The Year Award winners, Sir Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin, Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Bono
MusiCare protects persons working in the music business by giving them a place to turn in times of fiscal, medical, and personal need.
