Sydney band Faker will headline round 2 of Jack Daniel’s music initiative The JD Set.
Faker has built up history in the Australian music biz after forming in 1996. Despite the early origins, it wasn’t until 2005 when they released their first album ‘Addicted Romantic’ through EMI. It featured ‘Hurricane’, the number 21 hit on the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2005.The second album ‘Be The Twilight’ was released in 2007. It reached number 24 on the ARIA chart. That album gave us ‘This Heart Attack’, which peaked at number 9 on the ARIA singles chart.
The bar was raised for Faker with ‘Be The Twilight’ when Paul Fox (Sugacubes, They Might Be Giants) stepped into the production role. “Paul made a point of tracking as live as possible and you can feel the energy of the whole band interacting,” frontman Nathan Hudson told The JD Set.
Faker grabbed The JD Set torch from You Am I who recently took phase 1 winners The Glass Ceiling and The Shiny Brights on an Australian tour.
