Paul Sharratt, one of the true nice guys of Australian television, has died at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 75.
Sharratt was a well-known TV presenter in Queensland in the 70s and 80s and earned a dozen Logies to his name for his work on camera.He relocated to Los Angeles and became a big name in television production as one of the owners of Associated Television.
As Executive Producer at Associated Television, Paul worked with Roger Moore on the Secret KGB Files, Robert Stack on Lords of the Mafia, Lee Majors in Forbidden Secrets and Henry Winkler and David Hasselhof on The Nice Film and Television Awards.
In Queensland Paul hosted the Christmas Under The Tower and the Queensland Cancer Appeal Telethon for more than 10 years. He worked with Ugly Dave Gray on the Dave Gray Comedy Hour, specials with Liberace, Phyllis Diller and The Village People and he had his own Tonight Show in Queensland from 1977-1980.
Sharratt had been battling cancer for the last 12 months.
A memorial service is expected to be held for Paul in Los Angeles this Sunday.
