KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD spent the twilight of March recording their brand new album between weekends at Anglesea and a warehouse studio in Fairfield, Melbourne that also happens to be the castle of producer Paul Maybury, the Maharaja of rock & roll sound and a fillion other things.
The progeniture of these sessions form the album "12 Bar Bruise", an album virtually spewing with demonaic chunks of psychgarage, wit and dirty scuzzed-out hysteria. Clocking in at a little under 35 minutes, there's no room for time filling crap on this album. The record kicks off inside a garage in sea-side suburbia, (Ocean Grove?) belts past the pub for a cheeky brawl, before getting back in time for the game. Bang, Bang, Bang, it takes no prisioners and as a result has received the honour of scoring 4/5 from The Age and has featured as album of the week on eveybody's favourite radio stations(so you better support them with cash when you can) 3RRR 102.7FM and PBS 106.7FM.
