The Superman suit Christopher Reeve wore in Superman III is being auctioned in Melbourne.
Auctioneers Bonhams and Goodman will sell the suit at 2pm on May 24.Reeve played Superman from 1978 to 1987.
The costume comprises a leotard featuring the unmistakable red and yellow ‘S’ logo, a pair of red trunks and yellow belt.à The leotard has slits in the side through which cables were fed to suspend Reeve while filming simulated flying scenes for Superman III.à
Superman suits are a rare find at auction. This one is expected to sell for between $15,000 and $20,000.
You can view the suit at Bonhams and Goodman at 540 Malvern Rd, Prahran on May 22 and 23 before the auction on the 24th.
