If you saw `George of the Jungle`, `Rain Man` or a dozen other movies you may have heard the music of Johnny Clegg. His songs have been in a few.
‘George of the Jungle’ was a good place for his biggest hit ‘Scatterlings of Africa’. “It was quiet nice,” he tells Undercover News.Clegg has become somewhat of a regular on the big screen. “I have had a number of songs,” he says. “‘Cruel Crazy Beautiful World’, ‘Scatterlings Of Africa’, ‘Great Heart’. They have all been in movies. ‘Scatterlings’ was in Rain Man, ‘Cruel Crazy Beautiful World’ appeared in about four B-grade movies at one stage”.
Watching a movie and hearing the songs is equally strange for the South African superstar. “It is bizarre, it is very bizarre,” he says. “I have had that experience. They always place the songs in the weirdest place”.
Expect to hear the best of Johnny Clegg when he brings his show to Australia and New Zealand in May for the first time in three years.
