Jason Castro, the third runner-up in the 2008 season of American Idol, has signed a deal with Atlantic Records.
Castro is working on his debut album for the Warner Music imprint.Jason Castro made news when he became the first contestant ever to play a musical instrument on the show.
The 22-year guitarist is from Dallas, Texas. Jason grew up playing drums and taught himself guitar. Prior to American Idol, he had only ever sung in public 5 times.
Castro is recording his debut album in Los Angeles with help from Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and producer John Fields.
