Johnny Clegg, the white Zulu, is on his way back to Australia.
Clegg was born in London but grew up in South Africa. His songs, mixing Zulu with English lyrics, have made him a household name in South Africa.His fame spread to Europe where he has had two platinum and five gold records. At one stage, he had the number one and number two song in France with ‘Third World Child’ and ‘Shadow Man’.
Legend has it that Clegg is so big in France that once Michael Jackson cancelled a show that was on in the same city on the same night after Clegg sold more tickets.
Johnny Clegg will tour Australia from May 21.
