Welsh superstar Rod Stewart has told Blender magazine that he would consider reuniting The Faces for a one off gig.
Previously, the superstar had not wanted to be a part of a reunion of the living members, because The Faces would not be The Faces without Ronnie Lane.He told the US magazine "I would reform them for the right reasons - maybe a big one-off charity event. Also we haven't got enough material. We only used to play live for 45 minutes; people want two hours now."
In true name-dropping fashion, he added, "BONO keeps telling me that I've got to start writing songs again, so I suppose that's the next one up. I haven't written for a long time, but I've started picking up the old acoustic guitar again."
Stewart's last five albums were all covers albums, including four "American Songbook" albums, which saw him cover old standards and his most recent album 'Still The Same... Great Rock Classics Of Our Time'.
The Faces were born in 1970 after Steve Marriott left The Small Faces to form Humble Pie. The remaining members poached Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood from the Jeff Beck Group and became The Faces.
Ronnie Wood was later poached from The Faces to join the Rolling Stones, where he has been employed ever since.
