Rob Thomas is not the only member of Matchbox Twenty doing the solo thing. Paul Doucette has The Break and Repair Method.
Doucette will showcase The Break and Repair Method at SXSW in Austin, Texas next month in preparation for the release of his album ‘Milk The Bee’.Don’t be fooled by the name. The Break and Repair Method is not a band. It is the name he chose to go by for his solo work.
"Something about the name really rung true with a lot of the way I write,” he says in a statement. “One song will be really lyrically dark, and then the next song is the complete opposite. I have a tendency to do that. So it fit my style of writing."
The album features work from Matt Beck, who helps out in Matchbox Twenty’s live shows. Paul’s wife Moon Unit Zappa and friend Nina Gordon of Veruca Salt fame are also on the album.
In September, he will release the album ‘Milk The Bee’ independently but in Australia it will come out much earlier through Warner Music.
Paul will showcase The Break and Repair Method at Maggie Mae’s in Austin on Saturday March 21.
