Mystery surrounds the disappearance of singer Gerry Rafferty and his friends fear for his safety.
Rafferty, best known for the 70s hit ‘Baker Street’, has not been seen for 6 months.He was last seen on August 1 last year when he left St Thomas Hospital in London where he was being treated for liver disease.
It is known that he checked into a hotel after leaving all of his belongings at the hospital.
Friends fear for his safety as he had a bad case of liver failure and is in constant need of medical attention.
61-year old Rafferty is from Scotland.
His first band was The Humblebums in the mid 60s. Although unsuccessful, it did also feature Billy Connolly.
In 1972, Rafferty formed Stealers Wheel and had a massive hit with ‘Stuck In The Middle With You’. The song was also featured in the movie Reservoir Dogs.
The big album for Rafferty was ‘City To City’ in 1978. It featured the now classic ‘Baker Street’. The album sold 5.5 million copies.
A missing persons report has been filed for the singer but his whereabouts remain unknown.
