Roger Waters has been touring the USA and Europe performing his former band Pink Floyd's legendary 1973 album 'Dark Side Of The Moon' to rave reviews, has finally announced his Australian leg of the tour.
It will be his first time in Australia since 2002's hugely successful shows, which saw him on stage for three hours performing songs from Pink Floyd's entire career and a few solo tracks as well.His shows early next year will be two sets, one being 'Dark Side Of The Moon' in its entirety. Pink Floyd once put on a similar performance for 1994's 'Pulse' tour, recently released for the first time on DVD, but Waters was not in the band at this point.
Earlier this year, Waters rejoined his former band mates in Pink Floyd for a one off performance in London, for Live 8, a festival put on by Sir Bob Geldof to influence the G8 meeting of world leaders.
The band includes Andy Fairweather-Low (who amongst other things, was a founding member of 60s art-rockers Amen Corner) on guitar, Snowy White (who was a live member of Pink Floyd) on guitar, Dave Kilminster on guitar, John Carin on keyboards, Harry Waters (Roger's son) on keyboards and organ, Graham Broad (Tina Turner, Bonnie Tyler) on drums, Ian Ritchie (who produced Waters' solo album 'Radio Kaos' and played with Laurie Anderson and Hugh Cornwall) and Katie Kissoon, P.P. Arnold and Carol Kenyon on backing vocals.
