Sir Paul McCartney becomes Sir Paul McCartney™

Mon, 16 Oct 2006 07:27:01 +1000

Sir Paul McCartney has reportedly begun the process to trademark his name, for use on products ranging from pantihose to vegetarian food products.

If successful, McCartney™ - through his company MPL Communications - will be granted the exclusive right to put his name to any consumer product he so desires. At this stage, it is reported that McCartney™ will lend his name to lines of clothing, headwear and footgear.

The famed vegetarian would also have the right to use his name on meat products, but a spokesman explained it would simply "give him protection against his name being used on products he does not approve of."

The following list, compiled at Undercover HQ, is a list of "products we'd like to see Sir Paul McCartney™ put his name to":

- Sir Paul McCartney™'s Classical Music for Dummies book
- Sir Paul McCartney™ angora-wool ankle warmers
- Sir Paul McCartney™ PVC tubing products
- Sir Paul McCartney™'s Divorce-Made-Easy self-help book
- Sir Paul McCartney™ apple-flavoured baby formula
- Sir Paul McCartney™ multi-coloured feminine hygiene products
- Sir Paul McCartney™ 'things to do when you have too much money' guide
