Brandon Flowers of The Killers will make a home in the Nevada desert.
The Killers frontman has purchased a piece of desert land. The 27-year-old singer spent thousands of dollars on the strip of sand in his hometown of Las Vegas so he has somewhere to erect his own giant neon sign.
He also plans to "one day" build a house on the site.
Brandon also revealed his band's next release will be a covers album, including versions of their favourite tracks by Tom Waits, Genesis and Rod Stewart.
He said: "It's going to be exciting."
The 'Human' hitmaker recently admitted he was unsure of the direction he wanted to take the band in.
He said: "Every day, I change. One day I want to be dead serious, and the next I just want to write great pop songs and have fun. I don't have any kind of clear direction. I don't know if I'd want to."
Brandon - who admits to having "a drive bordering on obsession" - believes The Killers can overtake U2 to become the biggest group in the world.
He added: "U2 are unbelievable but they're getting old. I think it's time.
"We want to see where this will take us. It doesn't make any sense to place restrictions."
