James Taylor will give a fan a new iPod full of his songs after she had to forfeit her player to pay a cab fare.
Natalie Lenhart of Sacramento was told by police to hand over her iPod to a cab driver at a New York airport after her credit card for a fare from Manhattan was declined. When James Taylor heard how his fan had to give up for $149 iPod for a $49 cab fare, he offered to buy her a new one ... and fill it with his catalogue.
Taylor told the New York Post that the demand was outrageous and that only a tourist would have been put in that position. He said a New Yorker would never go for it.
The driver responsible says he will return the iPod if the fare is paid. Meanwhile, Natalie, you’ve got a friend in James.
