Wendy Matthews has been chosen to perform on the steps of Parliament House in Canberra on Australia Day.
The free concert is expected to fetch around 30,000 people.It has 5 years since Wendy released ‘Caf?? Naturale’ but she has broken her musical drought with ‘She’, a collection of songs by women. “These artists and songs meant a lot to me growing up,” explains Wendy. “They were strong women who used their personal suffering to create songs of such depth and beauty.”
‘She’ features songs from Chrissie Hynde, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt and Aretha Franklin. Wendy will perform songs from the album at the Canberra show.
