Elvis Costello will be the evening`s entertainment for the ball in honor of the Barack Obama inauguration on December 20.
He tops the all-star bill, which includes a performance by Sting, Sam Moore and Seal, and appearances by actor Alan Cummings, actresses Susan Sarandon, Anne Hathaway and film director Spike Lee.The sold-out event will take place at the Harman Center for the Arts and will raise funds for non-profit arts and entertainment advocacy group The Creative Coalition.
West Wing star Richard Schiff is also expected to attend, alongside members of the US Congress and policy and business leaders.
Meanwhile, US rappers Ludacris and Big Boi from Outkast have outlined plans for an Urban Ball to coincide with the inauguration.
The artists who have both been passionate supporters of the Democrat, will host a party at Washington DC's Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
And Kanye West will headline another inauguration ball at the nearby Fur nightclub.
