Bluesfest will go an extra day with a line-up featuring Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Gurrumul and Tony Joe White adding second shows to the event and Paul Kelly, Tim Finn and Buffy Sainte-Marie added to the bill.
This will be the first time Bluesfest has gone for 6 days despite local Byron Shire Councillors trying to derail it.
With that now in the past, Bluesfest will rock a day longer on April 26.
Also added to the line-up is The Mad Bastards, featuring Alex Lloyd and the Pilgrim Brothers.
“We’re over the moon about adding Day 6 for the first time ever, bringing more incredible music to our festival fans and more business to the Byron economy,” Peter Noble said in a statement. “We fought the good fight for locals and visitors who want to see Bob Dylan in particular that day, and I have to say that most Byron Bay Councillors came on side in a fast and exemplary manner to get this over the line – so a heartfelt thank you guys”.
The previously announced line-up includes Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Ben Harper & Relentless7, Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Cat Empire, Blind Boys of Alabama featuring Aaron Neville, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Fistful of Mercy, Mavis Staples, Xavier Rudd, Trinity Roots, Kate Miller-Heidke, Washington, Little Bushman, Tony Joe White, Indigo Girls, Eric Bibb, Ash Grunwald, Ruthie Foster, C.W.
