The year still looks like ending with a Kings Of Leon as Kings of the Aussie chart.
Despite a bit of acceleration from Pink, the KOL ‘Only By The Night’ album is still pulling good weekly figures to maintain a safe upfront lead as biggest selling album of 2008 (so far).‘Only By The Night’ has sold 249,347 units so far this year, compared to Pink’s ‘Funhouse’ with 228,855 units.
Coldplay ‘Viva La Vida’ is still at number 3 with 197,222 units sold. AC/DC ‘Black Ice’ is catching up though with 189,562 sales registered so far.
The 5th biggest selling album so far this year is ‘Death Magnetic’ by Metallica. It’s done 128,224 units but Mamma Mia is close behind on 123,272 units and selling more per week.
After a poor first week showing from Guns n’ Roses ‘Chinese Democracy’ we can now rule that out as a potential Top 5 album of 2008.
