In this week’s chart wrap, Kings Of Leon blast into number one.
It’s astonishing: the new Kings Of Leon album Come Around Sundown sold 20,000 copies more than the number two.
The album sold 26,463 copies, with John Farnham’s latest album Jack only managing 6069 at number two, and Robbie Williams’ Greatest Hits with 3611 at number three.
Bring Me The Horizon managed to get a number one last week with 3600 copies but it slipped to number 20 this week with half those sales.
Other debuts this week include Bruno Mars’ Doo-wops & Hooligans at number seven, and a new Crowded House Best Of at number 11.
The next debut is Ronan Keating’s 10 Years Of Hits at number 66.
Also coming into the Top 100 Weighted Albums Chart this week: Paris Wells (75), The Beatles 1967-1970 collection (76), All That Remains (90), a U2 single collection (97) and The Beatles 1962-1966 collection (99).
The Beatles and U2 collections are very old catalogue titles.
The biggest climb up the charts this week was Metallica’s Death Magnetic, from 106 to 64 (the Black album shot up as well).
The biggest drop was Boyzone’s Brother, down from 34 to 91.
